I will support you with warmth, compassion, and curiosity on your path to healing and growth.

“I see therapy as a place to feel accepted, handle tough emotions with more ease, and take steps toward the changes you want. Real change happens in the safety of a compassionate connection where you are accepted just as you are.

Jenny’s Approach

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) is a type of psychotherapy that helps you move beyond negative thoughts and feelings in a meaningful way by:

  • Accepting that your thoughts and emotions are an appropriate response to certain situations.

  • Committing to making changes in your life that match your values.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps clients identify and change harmful thought patterns that affect their feelings and behaviours. CBT can help you:

  • Understand the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviours

  • Identify negative thoughts: You'll work with a therapist to become aware of "automatic thoughts"—these are rapid, often unhelpful thoughts that can cause emotional distress.

  • Challenge and reframe: You'll learn to question the accuracy of these thoughts, see them as opinions rather than facts, and find alternative, more realistic perspectives.

  • Change behaviors: By changing your thinking, you can change your reactions and develop healthier behaviors to cope with difficult situations

Hakomi - Mindful Somatic Therapy

Hakomi therapy is a gentle, mindfulness-based approach that helps you explore unconscious beliefs and emotional patterns by focusing on present-moment experiences, both mental and physical.

What a session looks like

  • Mindful exploration of physical sensations, emotions, and thoughts.

  • Gentle experiments to help you focus on a specific memory or belief, and then become more aware of how it shows up in your body and mind.

  • Assisted self-discovery: The therapist works with you to bring unconscious patterns into conscious awareness so they can be examined and understood. This is a collaborative process where you are the expert on your own experience.

Solution Focused Therapy

Solution-focused therapy is a client-centered, goal-oriented approach that helps you identify your strengths to build on them for positive change. It is:

  • Future-focused

  • Strengths-based

  • Goal-oriented

  • Collaborative and client-led and

  • Practical and action-oriented
